Resources

This is a collection of resources to help you start a blog and grow your blog. These are my favorite, tried and trusted products. I only recommend products that I know, love and want others to use.

Starting a Blog

Blog Hosting

I have tried Blogger, Squarespace & WordPress. In the end, I always come back to WordPress. I love its backend, and how sites running WordPress look. I’ve also tried quite a few hosting platforms, so here are my favorites.

Host Gator

They have plans starting at $2.78 per month, as well as domain purchasing options.

1&1 Hosting

This is my current hosting platform. Their plans start at $0.99 per month & you can get a domain through them as well.

Bluehost

Bluehost is easy to use and their hosting plans start at just $3.95 per month. You can also buy a domain through them!

Domain Name

I’ve tried a lot of different places for purchasing a domain name. Here are my suggestions for where you can find the most affordable and easy to use domain name.

1&1

You can get the first year of a domain for only $0.99.

BlueHost

You can get a free year of a domain if you sign up for a hosting plan as well.

NameCheap

You can get a domain for a year for only $0.88.

Website Framework

If you have web design experience, or want to create a very customized website, a framework may be the right option for you! A framework is essentially the bare bones of a website that allows you to deeply customize with ease. Here are my favorite Framework options.

Themify Builder

Themify is similar to Elegant Themes in that $79 gets you access to all of Themify's themes. Themify Builder is the framework & has an easy to use drag and drop interface.

Divi Framework

The Divi Framework is gaining popularity recently. It's a drag and drop theme builder for Wordpress that's extremely versatile. It starts at $89 for all of the themes that Elegant Themes has.

Genesis Framework

The Genesis Framework is one of the most versatile and popular frameworks. You can create almost any website with this framework. Starts at $59.95.

Website Themes

For those of us who are slightly less web design oriented, there are amazing themes all over the internet created by amazing designers. Here are some of my current favorites.

Elle Theme

$45

Lush Theme

$45

Hello Maker Theme

$65

Social Media Tools

Pinterest Tools

Pinterest is an extremely valuable social media platform. Make it a priority by using some of these tools!

Boardbooster

BoardBooster is scheduling tool that allows you to grow your Pinterest account.

Tailwind

Tailwind is a great Pinterest scheduler, allowing you to grow your Pinterest easily.

Instagram Tools

Using these Instagram tools can enable you to take your Instagram from a pretty place to look at pictures to a platform that will grow your blog and business.

Iconosquare

Iconosquare lets you see in-depth analytics for your Instagram.

Later

Later allows you to schedule pictures, and has an awesome feature called Linkin.bio that allows you to have each image link to something different.

Facebook & Twitter Tools

Hootsuite

Hootsuite is great for scheduling both platforms. Their pro plan starts at $15 per month.

Buffer

My personal favorite for scheduling Twitter and Instagram. It's $10 per month for their 'awesome' plan.

Email Tools

ConvertKit

ConvertKit is the best option, in my opinion, for email marketing. It starts at $29 per month, but is well worth it.
